14 Amazing Cheap DIY Projects for $30 and Under

Some bloggers have such a knack for wowing us with their innovative and inspiring DIYs. The problem, though, is that many of these ideas are incredibly difficult and expensive to replicate.

We've come up with a list of the best cheap DIY projects that are not only inexpensive, but they are easy to make. For many of these ideas to cost less than $30, make sure you use coupons for craft stores and shop the sales. A little planning as far as materials are concerned will save you a lot of cash.

01. DIY Outdoor Couch - Angela Marie Made

How to build a DIY outdoor couch for only $30 in lumber! This outdoor couch works great in small spaces, is budget friendly, and super cute too!

MATERIALS:
(8) 2×3 @ 8ft (framing lumber)
(2) 1×3 @ 8ft
2 1/2″ Deck Screws (optional – see step #2)
2″ brad nails
2 1/2″ Kreg screws (weather resistant)
Stainable wood filler
(2) sets of outdoor cushions (I used these Sevilla Occasional cushions)**
Exterior wood stain (I used a quart of Valspar exterior stain in Pinebark)

TOOLS:
Kreg Jig (or Kreg Jig mini)
Miter saw
Drill
Brad nailer
Clamps
Tape Measure

 Everything I used for this project is listed below:

  • An old cardboard box
  • A glue gun and spray glue
  • A ruler
  • Fabric
  • Scissors
  • Rope
  • Sewing Machine (although you could sew by hand too)

07. DIY Dog Food Station with Storage

I decided it was time to build her something that would prevent these messes and also store her dog food.  I sketched up some plans and came up with this DIY dog food stand with storage underneath.  It keeps her water and food dishes from being tossed around, and I can store a whole bag of dog food in it.  I built it to fit a 10 gallon storage tub, so this is definitely a project for big dogs.

1/4″ hardwood plywood cut to 19″ x 63″
Full Length beveled mirror (found at Home Depot)
3M Stainable Wood Filler
ScotchBlue Painter’s Tape
3M Advanced Abrasives 120 grit sanding paper
3m safety glasses
4 decorative hinges
1 pull or knob
magnet closures
wood stain of your color choice

I bought all the supplies and wood for this project for under $100.
